What do I pour on?
What kinds of materials does acrylic pouring art work best? Just about anything! My favorite things to use include:
art canvases (square and round),
MDF wooden rounds (several sizes),
tiles (4’’+ 6” mainly, but other sizes as well),
as well as other items- including 3D objects such as Christmas ornaments and glassware!
10’’ Canvas
10’’ MDF Round (1/4’’ thick)
4’’ tiles- to be made into coasters or hung with frames as wall art
Painting gold on the edges of wine glasses. The paint is sealed with resin and the glasses are safe for everyday use.
Canvas triptych- three 4’’*12’’ color study
In addition, when the paint dries on a tile it is able to be peeled off- the result is called a “skin”. Skins can be used to make many things, but my favorite is jewelry and accessories.
Bookmarks are made with acrylic skins
Wine toppers made from acrylic skins
Jewelry from acrylic skins
There is so much more than can be done- I’ll update this journey as I try new projects!
